The relief is made of burnt clay. Its author is the academic sculptor Stane Kolman
(1953--2019).

Explanation regarding the Turk relief in the Dom Planika: Danilo Turk was the leader
of the cultural-propaganda group of the IX. Corps, which organized rallies throughout
the Primorska region at the end of 1944. When the August mud season began in Trent
a group of four partisans on August 2nd decided to "jump" to Triglav over Komar. At the top
they hoisted the Slovene flag and in the Vrata they destroyed the German-Italian border marker
which stood near Aljažev's column. The event was later described by a participant in the
uprising, the lawyer and partisan poet (the famous Vstala Primorska is his work) Lev
Svetek (Gore in ljudje 2/1946, pp. 96-101).
