BIZOVIK pri LJ - memorial to the fallen partisans

The memorial is a granite plaque, a stela, measuring 120 x 100 x 12 cm, with
engraved text. The plaque stands on a tiled surface measuring 0.5 x 2.5 m and
is approximately 3 m away from a wooden structure - a kozolček - and about 3 m
from a metal fence, which borders the parking area of the Sports Club Strmec in
Bizovik, at the address Pot v Dolino 6o.

Originally, the memorial stood close to the stream on the edge of the parcel and
was erected in 1982. In the spring of 2018, the tenant of the location moved it
to the new (current and marked) location, without, using the pressure plates
on the load-bearing tile surface.

On 9 March 1943, members of MVAC in Bizovik killed partisan Lojzet Kastelic
and Staneta Orla. After torture, they were tied and shot. Lojzet was also
beaten to death with a pistol. […]

On 9 March 1943, members of MVAC from Bizovik, among them were: S. B., A. S.
A. J., F. J., and V. H. and S. E. and R. M., caught him at the same time as
partisan Lojzet Kastelic, tortured him, and killed him in the forest above
