"Cyril Osterman Cyril was born on February 25, 1914, in a courtier family on the Islands. His father died in the First World War. He remarried his mother and stayed with her until he finished elementary school at Middle Dobrava. In Ljubljana, he studied to become a locksmith. [.. ] Žagarjeva School helped him be among the first workers' movement activists. [..] Organized as a worker of OF on the field and in the factory. He was arrested for the first time in January 1942 and spent several days in Kranj. He was arrested again in 1943 when he was sent to Ljubljana, but after fourteen days he was transferred to Begunje in detention. After eight days he returned home. Continuing his work as a worker of OF at the sawmill. Before the third arrest, he managed to escape to the partisans on March 25, 1944. He was assigned to the economic commission of the OF Jelovica district with headquarters in Kroparska Gora. [..] He worked in the transport caravan of the economic commission of the Regional Council OF Kranj.
Anton Jelovčan survived his youth with his parents in Martinj vrh. After completing elementary school, he performed various part-time jobs. With a group of workers, he took over the woodland and cleared the agricultural holdings. In 1934, with a six-member family, he moved from Selški Lajš to Kropo, where he bought a house. He worked in the sawmill and ironworks factory as a machine operator during the occupation and participated in OF movement activities, financially and materially supporting it. He joined the partisans on September 25, 1944. He was assigned to the regional economic-finance commission of Kranj. Finally, he led the troops of the Gorenjske Military District.
The beginning of the Spomladinska German offensive in Gorenjska and Cerkljan also inspired homeguards with positions in Kranj, Kovorja, Brezjah, and Kamni Gorici. They frequently raided Kropo and its surroundings. On March 20, 1945, searches were conducted in Kropo, and prisoners were taken in some houses. In the forest near Kropo and Kroparska Gora, they seriously injured Jelovčan and Osterman, who fell during their flight. A memorial plaque made of steel plate from Livarna Ironworks Jesenice was fixed on a living stone and unveiled in 1969 by the District Organization ZB NOV Kropa.
Cyril Osterman is buried in a grave at the cemetery in Middle Dobrava, where he has his own marker.

Nahaja se ob markirani poti Jamnik-Vodice; v bližini na desni je rob Zidane skale ali Kroparske gore (Orlovina oz. Varlovina) s pogledom na Kropo. Dostop po pešpoti z Jamnika, ki se prične pri prvih 2 hišah - v Kolombrtu. Po približno 40 minut hoje navkreber zagledamo na desni ta spomenik; moramo še kakšnih 10 minut naprej mimo odcepa za tehniko Meto.
