Memorial to the NOB battle at St. Urban

The monument represents a marble plaque placed on a concrete base. Around the monument is a fence with a chain. The monument has an inscription with the names of the fallen.

In the full-day battle
according to initial reports, three partisans fell. Some accounts mention a fourth unknown fighter, who was likely a Croat by origin. He was a brave fighter from Moscow, who was called Ruski Ivan within his unit. In the first morning attack, Gabrijel Helbing from Kaple was seriously wounded, and later another occupying unit came upon him. On the monument, which was erected much later, Leopold Koh is also listed among the fallen, although he is not mentioned in official battle records. He was probably originally led in a group of missing persons, and it was only later revealed that he had fallen. The battle, despite the retreat, was marked as a success, since it informed the occupier that in the future there would be no more peace in this area.
