Special units also include two traffic battalions, whose task was to maintain as organized a rear area and effective supply of the front. On 23 September 1944, the 1st Traffic Battalion or the Slovenian Automobile Battalion was established, into which they merged the previously existing automobile units from Bari, Gravina and Monopolio. This unit arrived on the battlefield in the homeland with 64 Triton trucks, with the same number of drivers and assistants, two drivers of motorbikes, an economist and a nurse. The 2nd Automobile Battalion remained in Bari until the end of July 1945, when it returned to the homeland as the last unit from the Italian territory.
