made of aluminium weighs 4500 kg; the 16-metre memorial measures approximately 25 metres in height including the concrete base. Beneath the memorial is a grave, but not all those mentioned on the plaques are buried there, since some relatives after the war reinterred the deceased on local cemeteries. Still missing are 914 names on the plaques; an additional 123 fallen and deceased are unknown – their names are not listed or the data on individuals
are incomplete.
Based on the previous verification, it was found that in some cases the data on names and surnames or places of residence on the memorial are incorrect, that the names and surnames of some fallen individuals are written twice (224 errors are in the rubric Besedilo že popravljenih), and the number 1144 written on the memorial is also incorrect.

Together with the names of fallen fighters from the former Soviet Union, who fought in Slovenian partisan units, there are 1134 names.

The list of fallen activists, partisans and collaborators of the OF in Suha Krajina from 1961 is kept by the Dolenjski Museum in Novo Mesto, while the list of names from 1988, which are now inscribed on the memorial, is kept by ZVKDS, OE Novo Mesto. The list is not final and changes are possible, which you can report to the Dolenjski Museum in Novo Mesto.

The architect is architect Marjan Tepina.

The grave on Cvibelj above Žužemberk (also known as Tumplac) is the largest partisan grave in Slovenia. The ossuary is common for those who died in more than one cemetery in Suha Krajina. The names of partisans, activists of the OF, who lost their lives as anti-fascists during the war, interned persons and also members of international units, which were part of the Slovenian national liberation army, are engraved. On the territory of Suha Krajina, fighters and fighters of legendary partisan units, especially members of the 7th Corps, as well as fighters against fascism and nazism from other republics of Yugoslavia, states of the Soviet Union, Italy, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Lithuania and other countries, died. On the memorial are 243 names from a wider area of Žužemberk (69 fallen fighters out of a total of 231 fighters from this area, 143 deceased civilians, 31 deceased out of a total of 261 interned). The memorial was erected by the Republic Committee of the ZZZBNOB of Slovenia on 22 June 1961, on the 20th anniversary of the uprising of the Slovenian people within the framework of the entire republic and also the anniversary of the municipality of Žužemberk.

The memorial was first renovated in 1973, secondly in 1988, when 9 granite blocks (design by architect Jovo Grobovšek) were newly placed, and thirdly in 2004, when among other things the inscriptions were renewed and the surroundings were arranged. The memorial has the status of a memorial for foreign armies, and is in the process of obtaining the status of a memorial of national significance. The list of fallen partisans, activists and collaborators of the OF in Suha Krajina from 1961 is kept by the Dolenjski Museum Novo Mesto, while the list of names from 1988, which are now inscribed on the memorial, is kept by ZVKDS OE Novo Mesto.
