«In Blagovica, the gendarmerie was stationed throughout the occupation [..] The partisans first attacked Blagovica on October 9, 1944. [..] The second attack began in the evening of November 7. This time, Tomšič's brigade attacked Blagovica and Krašnja. [..] After these attacks, the police expanded their fortifications. [..] After the last attack, the Vlasenovci arrived in Blagovica. When Franc Jerin, Justin Klander, and Jože Slapar were burying the fallen partisans on the Vranks, the Vlasenovci spotted them and started shooting at them. Klander managed to escape, but the other two were caught and arrested. When they tried to arrest the older Jože Slapar and led him past Plahutnik, he pleaded with them to let him go, as he had done nothing wrong.
