»At the end of August 1943, about 260 partisans gathered at Smrekovce for departure to Dolenjsko, which was a significant number for the circumstances at the time. […] The march of the Pohorje and Koroška battalion took place from Smrekovce to Tuhinjska dolina without interruptions. However, the Germans and collaborators occupied the village of Golice on the first days of September. The partisan reconnaissance unit, which included Ignac Čad - Jur and Franc Herle - Nande from the Pohorje battalion, as well as the leader Valentin Koprivšek - Edo, a partisan landowner, was caught there. Jur fell, Edo was captured, severely beaten, and sent to a concentration camp, where he survived, while Nande managed to escape.22«
