Bunker Micka

Partizanska zemljanka – bunker. Before the path to the bunker, there is a carved stone with an inscription.

At the beginning of 1944
the partisans – terrains were already preparing everything necessary for the arrival of a larger combat group of partisans on the left bank of the Drava, on Kozjak and Košenjak. At that time they ordered Herman to build a bunker in the most concealed part of the forest. It was primarily meant to serve as a refuge for the wounded and as a hiding place for materials or even as a technical shelter. With great effort, Herman, who had experience from the soška front, built a well-hidden solid earthwork. Despite intensive searching, it was never discovered. Due to the secrecy – conspiracy, we still today do not know who else stayed here, was treated or hid. The partisan leadership literally kept this bunker silent. Perhaps it did not entirely fit into the style of heroic partisan warfare. Here, however, they knew several fighters who licked their wounds and survived the hajks.

Out of protest, Herman's Rudi himself carved a modest memorial in the beginning of the 70s of the 20th century and placed it by the stream – the path that, in his day, led to this hiding place. Who knows what was so intriguing that they never, not even with the slightest ceremony, uncovered it. The commemorative plaque for Herman's bunker, however, has already been strongly weathered by time.

Today this stone monument speaks of something that once happened here.

The municipal committee of fighters for the values of NOB Muta carried out an action to restore the commemorative site in the vicinity of the location where the bunker Micka was. The granite commemorative plaque, which Novica Tonič donated and made, was placed in September 2013, specifically at the location by the course of Herman's student stream on the road to Pernice near the former bunker.
