«27. VILAR Danica, daughter and 28. VILAR Terezija, mother, born in 1892. They were a woman and her daughter, the daughter of a pharmacist from Logatec. On the night of 16 April 1944, the home guards – members of the črna roka – broke into their house and searched for the father, who was hidden in a bunker and had escaped the day before. «With a large military force, on 23 June 1942, they carried out the shooting of eight partisans in Horjul. The command of the Sardinian grenadiers' division ordered the use of 50 men from the third battalion of black jackets and at least 200 grenadiers for guard duty, while the first battalion of the first regiment was assigned to secure Lesno Brdo, where they believed partisans were located, and to monitor the area around Horjul. They shot: […] and Karol Vilar (Dolenji Logatec, 1918). They shot them because they did not retreat within the specified time, justifying the execution of seven local collaborators on Drenov Hill and in Horjul, among them the mayor of Horjul.»
