Memorial for the Jewish Children, Women and Men Murdered in the Shoah from Austria

On November 9, 2021, a Shoah Names Wall memorial was opened in the Ostarrichi Park. It commemorates the approximately 65,000 Jewish victims in Austria. The project was launched during the Republic of Austria's remembrance year in 2018. It was realized on the initiative of Holocaust survivor Kurt Yakov Tutter and the association for the establishment of a Shoah Names Wall memorial, and was supported by the National Fund. The memorial was financed by funds from the federal government as well as contributions from the federal states and donations. The total costs amounted to approximately 5.3 million euros. The design planning and realization of the memorial were carried out by the architects Wehofer ZT GmbH. For the further maintenance of the site, the City of Vienna and the National Fund took on joint responsibility.
