Erna Musik Memorial Stela

October 3, 2018, the city of Vienna named the municipal housing complex at Klosterneuburgerstraße 99 in honor of resistance fighter and Holocaust survivor Erna Musik. On the facade of the Gemeindebau there is an explanatory plaque about the naming of the courtyard and Erna Musik's biography. In 1943, she was arrested by the Gestapo as a opponent of the Nazi regime and deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp from where she was sent to Buchenwald. She arrived at Ravensbrück in early 1945 and worked under forced labor in the Munitions factory in the Malchow auxiliary-labor camp. After liberation, she returned to Vienna and took over her Jewish mother's business which had been expropriated by the National Socialists.
