Memorial Plaque - Combined Apartments Herminengasse 21

On May 5, 2013, a brass plaque was affixed to the façade of Herminengasse 21. Its inscription honors 39 Jewish women and men and one girl who were forced by the Nazi regime into collective apartments, from which they were deported to ghettos and concentration camps and murdered. Only one woman survived. Named are Hermann Glück, Gisela Lunzer, Rudolf Lunzer, Abraham Nuss, Dora Nuss, Gittel Nuss, Hildegard (Hilde) Nuss. Hermann Glück was deported from Vienna to Izbica on May 12, 1942 and murdered in the Holocaust. Gisela Lunzer was deported from Vienna to Theresienstadt on June 20, 1942 and then to Auschwitz on May 15, 1944, where she was murdered in the Holocaust. Rudolf Lunzer was deported from Vienna to Theresienstadt on June 20, 1942 and murdered there on November 8, 1943. Dora, Abraham, Gittel, and Hilde Nuss were deported from Vienna to Łódź on October 15, 1941 and murdered in the Holocaust.
