Memorial Plate - Collective Residence Werdertorgasse 17

On July 2, 2011, a bronze plaque was installed on the façade of house Werdertorgasse 17. Its inscription remembers 45 Jewish women, men, and children who were forced by the national socialist regime into collective accommodations in this house. From here, they were deported to ghettos and extermination camps, where they were murdered. Named are Leopold Feldstein, Alice Meth, Robert Willi Meth, and Mathilde Feldstein. Mathilde Feldstein (born Weinberger) was deported from Vienna to Maly Trostinec on May 20, 1942, and murdered there on May 26, 1942. Leopold Feldstein was deported from Vienna to Nisko on October 27, 1939, fled to Lemberg, and was murdered in the Holocaust. Alice and Robert Willi Meth were deported from Vienna to Riga on January 26, 1942, and murdered in the Holocaust.
