In 2006, a commemorative plaque was installed in the University building at Schenkenstraße 8–10 (5th floor, corridor), honoring the Hungarian Reformed preacher and resistance fighter Zsigmond Varga. Varga was arrested by the Gestapo in 1944 and deported to the concentration camp Mauthausen in 1945. He died in the concentration camp Gusen. The plaque is located in the Faculty of Evangelical Theology, where Varga had studied.
