On September 2, 2007, a commemorative plaque was unveiled on the facade of Mariannengasse 1 in the district of Alsergrund, honoring Jewish psychiatrist Viktor Emil Frankl. After his release from the concentration camp Türkheim in 1945, Frankl moved into this house and lived there until his death. In 2004, the Viktor Frankl Center was founded at this location. The plaque was revealed during an open house event held on the tenth anniversary of Viktor Frankl's passing.
