Memorial Plaque and Portrait of Elise Richter

In the year 2005, a portrait and a memorial plaque were placed before the lecture hall, which was renamed from the 2003 Lecture Hall to Elise Richter Lecture Hall, in the main building of the University of Vienna on Universitätsring 1. This tribute honors the Jewish university professor Elise Richter. After the Nazi seizure of power in 1938, she was expelled from the university and deported to the concentration camp Theresienstadt in 1942.
