At the Maria-und-Rudolf-Fischer-Hof in the Laxenburger Straße 98, the City of Vienna installed a memorial plaque for the namesakes of the housing complex, Maria Fischer and Rudolf Fischer, in the year 1949. Rudolf Fischer and Maria Fischer were active in resistance against the regime during the National Socialism. They belonged to the city leadership of the illegal Communist Party of Austria. Both were sentenced by the People's Court to death for preparation of high treason and were executed in 1943.
