Gedenktafel Johann Plocek

At the Plocekhof in Denisgasse 54, the Vienna community installed a memorial plaque for the namesake of the residential complex, Johann Plocek, in 1949. The locksmith Johann Plocek belonged to the resistance group at the tramway depot in Brigittenau under the National Socialist regime. In January 1942, he was arrested by the Gestapo for identification purposes. He was sentenced to death by the People's Court on December 8, 1942, for "preparation of high treason" and was executed in the Vienna Regional Court on March 30, 1943.
