Memorial plaque for displaced students and teachers

On November 17, 2000, a memorial plaque was installed at Bundesgymnasium 18 in Klostergasse 25 in the 18th district, commemorating those students, teachers, and staff of this school who were expelled from the school after the National Socialists seized power. The plaque was funded by the school community. Three of the commemorated students became victims of the Shoah: Theodor Schnabl, Peter Steinschneider, and Alfred Weber. The unveiling took place on the occasion of the school's 100th anniversary. Displaced former students were also present. The installation of the plaque followed several historical school projects. At the same time, another plaque was unveiled, commemorating the composer Ernst Krenek.
