Memorial plaque for Jews imprisoned, deported and murdered in the Praterstadion

On November 13, 2003, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the Ehrenloge of the Ernst-Happel-Stadium in the district of Leopoldstadt, commemorating those Jews and Jewish women who were imprisoned here in 1939 during the National Socialist regime, subjected to racist-anthropological examinations, and ultimately deported.
The memorial plaque was initiated by the historian David Forster following a conversation with the eyewitness Fritz Kleinmann. The plaque was funded by the City of Vienna and the Initiative Gedenktafel im Stadion, which Forster had founded.
