On December 9, 1998, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the interior of the student residence at Strozzigasse 6–8, commemorating the Catholic publisher Friedrich Funder. This residence is also named after him. Funder was a member of the State Council during the Austrofascist period. After the National Socialists seized power, his journalistic activities were halted, and Funder was deported to the concentration camp Dachau.
