Gedenktafel Friedl Dicker-Brandeis

In 2016, the city of Vienna renamed the municipal housing complex at Althanstraße 33 in the 9th district after Friedl Dicker-Brandeis. A dedication plaque was attached to the façade, providing comprehensive information about the artist, architect, and designer Friedl Dicker-Brandeis. As a member of the Communist Party, she already resisted against the Austrofascist regime and was arrested. In 1936, she emigrated to Czechoslovakia. On December 17, 1942, she was deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto and from there on October 6, 1944, to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where she was murdered.
