At the Anton-Matourek-Hof in the Rustengasse 9, the City of Vienna installed a memorial plaque for the namesake of the housing complex, the social democratic municipal politician Anton Matourek, in 1982. Anton Matourek was secretary of the Republican Protection League in Rudolfsheim until its prohibition. After February 1934, he was several times arrested by the Austrofascist regime due to his illegal political activities, and was interned in the Anhaltelager Wöllersdorf from December 1936 to May 1937.
