Gedenktafel Alfred Nathansky

The memorial plaque for Alfred Nathansky was unveiled on May 21, 1980, at the Wasagymnasium in Wasagasse 10 in the 9th district. It is located in the first floor of the building. The donor of the plaque was likely a committee of former students from the United States and Austria. Alfred Nathansky worked as an educator and adult educator in Brünn, Friedeck, Czernowitz, Triest, and Vienna. After his retirement in 1928, he directed the Maturaschule Universum. In addition, he devoted himself to popular education, particularly at the Volkshochschule Ottakring. On May 6, 1942, Alfred Nathansky was deported together with his wife Henriette by the NS regime to Maly Trostinec, where both were murdered.
