Gedenktafel Adolf Frankl

On September 28, 1998, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the façade of the house at Dorotheergasse 6–8 in the 1st district, commemorating the Jewish painter Adolf Frankl, who had lived in this house. Frankl was deported to the concentration camp Sered and later to the extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau during the National Socialist regime in 1944. He experienced the liberation. His experiences were processed in his art. The plaque was donated by the district council and initiated by Frankl's son, Tommy Frankl. Approximately 400 people participated in the ceremony for the unveiling.
