In 1998, a memorial site for Sr. Maria Restituta (Helene Kafka) was established at the Central Cemetery, Group 140. The Franciscan sister and nurse was active in resistance against the Nazi regime and was pursued as a political opponent. In March 1943, the NS justice system condemned her to death for "aiding enemies and preparing high treason" and executed her at the Vienna State Court. The memorial site was founded by the Roman Catholic Church.
