On October 23, 1945, the Vienna City Senate named an emergency bridge over the Pottendorfer Line after the resistance fighter Franz Reinelt. The Reichsbahn assistant had led an illegal operational cell and was a member of the expanded Central Committee of the KPÖ. He was arrested by the Gestapo on December 2, 1941, for communist activities. He was sent to the Mauthausen concentration camp on July 14, 1942, and murdered there on July 16, 1942.
