The Federal Real Gymnasium 2 – Vereinsgasse created a memorial in 1989 to commemorate 64 students and teachers who, after the National Socialists took power in Austria and the "Anschluss" with Germany, were expelled from the school as Jews. The memorial is located in the foyer of the school. Some of the students who were then expelled participated in the unveiling.
