In memory of the victims from Slovenia who were deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp during World War II, the Slovenian memorial was erected in the international memorial park at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial and was presented to the public on May 7, 1995. The initiative was taken by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia, and was realized by the architect Borisa Kobeta.
