In memory of the victims from Greece who were deported to the concentration camp Mauthausen during World War II, a Greek memorial was established in the international memorial park at the KZ Memorial Site Mauthausen and presented to the public on October 11, 1980. The initiative came from the Greek Embassy, and the artistic design is by sculptor Johannes Avramidis.
