In memory of the victims from Albania who were deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp during World War II, the Albanian memorial was erected in the international memorial park at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial and was presented to the public on May 4, 1969. The initiative was taken by the Embassy of the People's Republic of Albania and was realized by the architect Odhise Paskali.
