Memorial Plaque for Victims of NS-"Euthanasie" in Lungau

2006/07 the exhibition "lebensunwert" by Laube GmbH served as a memorial to more than 400 victims of Nazi "euthanasia" in the state of Salzburg, with displays held in all districts.
In the Lungau region, the project was shown for several weeks at Tamsweg Gymnasium and included an commemorative church service and a dramatic reading during the graduation ceremony.
Additionally, a permanent memorial artwork was unveiled. The mural on the outer wall of the parish church's stonework was created by painter and Special Olympics athlete Herbert Fritzenwallner (1961–2011) and Tamsweg artist Reinhard Simbürger as a monument to the victims of "euthanasia" in the Lungau region. The memorial plaque now extends the World War II war memorial at St. Jakob parish church in Tamsweg, adding a place of remembrance for the victims of Nazi-era killings in the Lungau.
