On the southwest side of the Kreuzstadl in Rechnitz there has been a marble plaque since 2019 commemorating László Fenyö.
László Fenyö, formerly Friedmann, was born in 1902 in Budapest and counted among the most significant Hungarian poets and lyric critics of his time during the interwar period. Towards the end of 1944, László Fenyö was arrested, tortured, and deported as a forced laborer to the construction of the Southeast Wall. On the night of March 24th to 25th, 1945, László Fenyö was murdered at the Kreuzstadl.
