Memorial Plaque in Neudörfl

Since 2006, a three-part memorial plaque in Neudörfl recalls the victims of World War II in the urn cemetery of the cemetery. This also remembers the resistance fighters of the community and the murdered Romnija and Roma. Numerous victims were claimed by the NS euthanasia program when the local nursing home for the elderly and sick in Neudörfl was dissolved, and its residents were murdered in the extermination facility Hartheim in 1941. Likewise, the former Jewish victims of the community are remembered, who were expelled or murdered. On one of these plaques, the Jewish forced laborers who died in the convalescent home in Neudörfl are also mentioned, who died there and were reburied in 1966 on the local cemetery and then again laid to rest on the new Jewish cemetery in Eisenstadt.
