Memorial Plaque for Victims of National Socialism in Neufeld an der Leitha

In the center of the community of Neufeld, near the local church, there is a memorial plaque on the base of the local war memorial commemorating the Neufeld victims of National Socialism. This plaque was installed following a decision of the city council on the occasion of the commemorative year 2005, 60 years after the end of World War II and 50 years after the state treaty. For political reasons, the worker Josef Blaschek was executed in 1944, and other opponents of the NS regime had been sentenced to imprisonment. In addition, four Neufeld women and one Neufeld resident became victims of the "NS euthanasia".
