Memorial Day in Bad Eisenkappel/Zelezna Kapula

In the main square of Bad Eisenkappel/Železna Kapla, in the Zarja-Passage, a commemorative clock with a permanent video installation was placed in 2022 to commemorate the victims of the NS regime in the community. The artistic object was created by Marko Lipuš, a descendant of Eisenkappler victims of the NS regime. The clock face does not have hands; instead, 160 victim names along with their birth and death dates appear there in rotation. The 160 people displayed in an endless loop were abducted and murdered by the Nazis before and during the war. A complete cycle through all names takes over two hours, symbolizing the eternal memory of the victims.
