Diplom economist Dr. Ludwig Steiner from Innsbruck was involved as a resistance fighter in the liberation of Innsbruck and as an ÖVP politician in the decisive state treaty negotiations. The state of Tyrol erected the commemorative plaque for Ludwig Steiner on the anniversary of his death on 28.6.2016. After the commemorative worship service, Landtag president Herwig van Staa unveiled the plaque together with the two Innsbruck city councilors Franz X. Gruber and Andreas Wanker (all ÖVP) in the presence of a delegation from the Catholic University Association Austria Innsbruck, of which Steiner was a member.
