Dr.-Felix-Bunzl-Straße Wattens

On December 30, 1929, the Wattens town council decided to introduce street names, including the Dr.-Bunzl Street as a connection between the Ludwig Laslgasse and the Neubaugasse. It bordered the Wattenbachgasse, which connected the Bunzl Street with the Swarovskistraße. The driving force behind the street naming was the "Beneficial Association of Wattens" with the local historian Karl Stainer. The most prominent supporter of the association was Felix Bunzl. The address of the company Bunzl & Biach was located at Dr.-Bunzl Street 1. Over time, the name Dr.-Felix-Bunzl Street became established in everyday language. In 1939, the National Socialists expelled Bunzl due to his Jewish origin from Wattens. On April 29, 1955, the town council decided on the re-establishment and renaming of streets. Some traffic areas were abolished, including the Dr.-(Felix)-Bunzl Street, whose houses the town council incorporated into the Wattenbachgasse. The Schwimmbadgasse received a new name: Dr.-Felix-Bunzl Street.
