Memorial and Information Site for the 360 Victims of Nazi Euthanasia from the Former Heil- und Pflegeanstalt Hall in Tirol on the Site of the State Hospital Hall

The memorial site, funded by tirol kliniken, the State of Tirol and Vorarlberg, the Zukunft- und Nationalfonds der Republik Österreich, consists of 360 stelae for those people who were deported by the NS authorities from the Heil- und Pflegeanstalt Hall to the killing facilities Hartheim and Niedernhart in Linz. On the stela head, a depression symbolizes the gap left by the murdered people. The date and place of birth, year and place of murder, and the home community are to be read. The different heights of the stelae and the design of the stela heads emphasize the uniqueness of the murdered. The stelae are arranged like a simplified map according to the home communities of the victims, from Vorarlberg through Tirol towards the east. An information terminal provides biographical information on the victims in simple language, historically researched by Oliver Seifert and Andrea Sommerauer. The memorial plaque is designed as a tactile model with a listening station for people with visual impairment.
