Memorial Against Intolerance and Hate in Front of the Friesenberger Haus Ginzling

1999, the Main Committee of the German Alpine Club decided to commemorate climbers who were victims of intolerance, political, ideological, religious, and racist persecution. On March 17, 2001, the German Alpine Club apologized in its proclamation "Against Intolerance and Hatred" for excluding and persecuting Jewish members and those who supported them. On July 12/13, 2003, the Friesenberghaus was dedicated as an international educational and encounter venue against intolerance and hatred. Since then, a memorial stone with a bronze plaque has been located at the entrance to the Friesenberghaus, dedicated by a Jewish rabbi (Andreas Nachama from Berlin), an Evangelical pastor (Meynhardt von Gierke from Jenbach), and a Catholic priest (Otto Walch from Lanersbach).
