Memorial for the Victims of NS Euthanasia at Friedhof Fließ

Irmgard Wille and her brother Hermann campaigned for years to establish a commemorative marker in memory of the Fließ victims of the Nazi euthanasia program. The Cultural Committee of the community, led by Alexandra Partl, decided to erect a memorial, though without naming the victims, as some family members were reluctant to publicly honor their loved ones. The dedication of the monument, designed by the Fließer sculptor Martin Schwienbacher, took place on All Souls' Day, November 8, 2015, following the church service during the traditional wreath-laying ceremony. Schwienbacher read out the text he had composed, which is affixed to the exterior wall of the autopsy room.
