Peter Gaber (1895–1944), a locksmith in Judenburg, was among other things a social democratic councilor from 1932 to 1934 and deputy mayor of the city from 1935 to 1938. Active in the Red Aid, he was arrested in July 1943 and sentenced by the People's Court to death for "preparation of high treason," and was executed in Graz on 12 May 1944.
