Gasse named after Richard Zach

The Graz teacher and writer Richard Zach (1919–1943) established a widely branched network of resistance cells among young people and published the newspaper "Roter Stoßtrupp." "Because of suspicion of having written communist slogans," he was arrested on October 31, 1941, and sentenced to death by the Reich War Court, and was executed in Brandenburg on January 27, 1943, shortly before his 24th birthday. During his imprisonment, hundreds of poems were written, some of which eventually reached the public through indirect means.
