Street for Johann Brandl (1892–1943), a worker in Kapfenberg, who supported families of imprisoned resistance fighters during the NS period and from 1942 participated in the rebuilding of the KPÖ in Kapfenberg. He was sentenced to death on 26 October 1943 for "preparation for high treason" and was executed in Graz on 11 December 1943.
