In connection with the 70th anniversary of the death of Erich Forster, a "Euthanasie" victim born in Thal bei Sulzberg, the community installed a memorial plaque on the church wall in 2011, on which elementary school children also contributed. The deaf-mute Erich Forster was murdered in Hartheim in 1941 at the age of 56. The plaque is made of sandstone from Rotach, which Erich Forster had previously quarried and sold as a grinding stone.
