The community and the parish of Lustenau established a memorial site in 2013 for the victims of National Socialism. The Lustenau sculptor Udo Rabensteiner created in immediate proximity to the war memorial a stone column broken by human hands as a metaphor for the brutal effects of tyranny and arbitrariness. On the large sandstone blocks, the names of the so far known Lustenau victims of violence and dictatorship, including those of the NS "euthanasia" program, are listed.
