Franz Reinisch, born in 1903 in Feldkirch, was ordained as a priest in 1928 and worked in various German cities. After the Nazi seizure of power, he took clear position against the NS ideology, expressing regime-critically in his sermons and lectures. In 1940, he was banned from preaching and giving talks throughout the entire Reich by the Gestapo. When he was called to military service in 1942, he refused the "Führer's oath." For "corruption of the Wehrmacht," Father Reinisch was sentenced to death by the Reichswehrgericht and executed on August 21, 1942 with a garrote. A memorial plaque at the Feldkirch parish church commemorates him.
