In 1988 did the Johann-August-Malin Society donate a plaque with the names of NS victims to the city of Dornbirn and thus initiated a long-lasting discussion about a memorial. Five years later, in 1993, a memorial stone for the victims of the NS dictatorship was erected in the park in front of the city archive/city museum. In 1997, the names of four Jewish victims were added.
