The monument honors the independence of the Slovene state.
It consists of four parts: two central sculptures, platforms (both made of white marble), concrete wave-like surfaces, and pillars that form a circle.
The author of the monument is sculptor Franc Purg.
It was unveiled on June 25, 2006.
There is no dedication on the monument.
